Privacy Policy

DebtAx is designed so that there is almost nothing to have a privacy policy about. Here is exactly what happens with your information.

No accounts, nothing stored on a server

There are no user accounts. All calculations run in your browser. The numbers you type, your debts, balances, rates, payments, income range, and any other inputs, are never sent to a DebtAx server. The site is a set of static files; it has no database.

When you click Copy link to this plan or Email me my plan, the site encodes your inputs into the link itself, after the # symbol. Anyone who has that link can see those numbers. The link is not stored by DebtAx. If you share it, you are sharing your inputs. Do not include information you would not want the recipient to see.

Local storage for convenience

Your most recent inputs on each calculator are saved in your browser's local storage so they are still there when you return. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted. The Clear my data button on every calculator removes it, as does clearing your browser's site data.

Email, only if you submit the form

If you use the Email me my plan form, your email address and the plan link are sent directly from your browser to the email service the site operator has configured, which is named in that provider's own privacy policy. DebtAx itself does not receive or store the address. If no email provider is configured, the form does nothing except show the copy-link option.

Ads and analytics, only if enabled

By default the site loads no third-party scripts, sets no cookies, and makes no external requests. The site operator may enable a privacy-focused analytics service or an advertising network. If enabled, those services may set cookies and collect usage data under their own policies. Analytics events, if enabled, record which calculator was used and whether a share, email, or offer link was clicked; they never include the numbers you entered.

Some pages contain links to partner sites. Clicking one takes you to the partner, whose privacy policy then applies. The link may include a tracking parameter so the partner can attribute a referral to DebtAx. DebtAx does not receive personal information from partners.

Children

DebtAx is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. It does not collect information from anyone, as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Because the site collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare and minor.
